gait analysis

WHAT IS GAIT ANALYSIS?

Gait analysis is a biomechanical assessment to look at how your body moves when walking or running. Asymmetries or abnormalities in our foot strike and loading pattern can cause joint, muscle, ligament or tendon soreness further up the body in the ankle, knee, hip and back.

The assessment allows our osteopath to identify these issues and tailor your treatment plan to get you walking, running or jumping pain free, whilst providing the best advice to reduce the risk of future injury.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM GAIT ANALYSIS?

Gait analysis can benefit you, if you are suffering from these problems

  • Pain when walking, running or playing sport
  • have foot, ankle, knee, hip or back pain
  • suffer from plantar fasciitis or metatarsalgia
  • have bunions, neuromas or hammer toes
  • have balance issues or poor posture
  • sore feet during standing

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We are the latest, Foot scan technology which has over 4000 high speed sensors which accurately capture and analyse your movement, providing detailed plantar pressure information which cannot be seen with a treadmill or the human eye.  This cutting edge technology helps us identify and treat the causes of injury, and allows us to identify future risks.

CAN I GET AN ORTHOTIC?

This real-time data can enable us to design a bespoke orthotic, using the world’s first 3D printed orthotics. Phits insoles can restore imbalances, minimise pain and reduce the risk of injury because it is created using data, dynamically measured throughout your gait cycle.
